Innes Street Site Flourishing
The combination of sunshine and rain following last month’s planting has left the Innes Street site looking terrific. The first infestation of fishbone fern is virtually eradicated after just two sessions. Next Working Bee: Saturday, May 16Starting at 8:30 am, the focus shifts to the next section of bushland. This area contains scattered corky passion vine and a significant amount of asparagus fern. Some additional planting is also planned for the morning.
Newcomers to the island are encouraged to join the group; fresh faces are always welcome and appreciated.
Maintenance UpdatesBushcare HQ is currently coordinating with contractors to remove the bulk of the Singapore daisy. The goal is to have this completed prior to the June working bee to allow the group to focus on finer restoration tasks.
Emerald Fringe ForumThe Member for Redlands, Rebecca Young, is hosting the Emerald Fringe Forum at the Rec Club.
Ms. Young has secured the funding promised prior to the last election to help shape the future of the heritage-listed Emerald Fringe. This is a key opportunity for the community to stay informed and involved. |
