Redland City Council is actively seeking community input on proposed amendments to the Redland City Plan, focusing on residential zone changes and other significant updates.
These amendments aim to address evolving community needs and legislative requirements, ensuring the city's growth aligns with residents' expectations.
Public consultation is open from 9 am on 2 March to 11.59 pm on 29 March 2026.
Residents are encouraged to review the proposed changes and provide feedback during this period.
Key proposed amendments include:
02/25 – Major Amendment – Residential:
This amendment addresses provisions related to secondary dwellings, dual occupancies, residential built form, and residential zone changes.
03/25 – Major Amendment – Non-Residential:
Focuses on zone changes, centre planning, land use provisions affecting mixed-use areas, lot reconfiguration, and environmental outcomes.
Additionally, updates to the Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) and Netserv Plan are proposed to incorporate revised planning assumptions, infrastructure plans, and financial models.
These updates are crucial for supporting the city's future growth and development.
Acting Mayor Julie Talty emphasized the importance of community participation, stating that public input will help ensure the proposals reflect community needs and values.
Residents can access detailed information and submit feedback through the council's official channels.
Physical copies of the proposed amendments are available for viewing at council customer service centres in Cleveland, Capalaba, and Victoria Point.
