Local author Christine Leonard is set to share insights into her latest work, Coochiemudlo: A Mariner's Mystery, at an upcoming event on March 5, 2026. The session will take place at the Cleveland Library from 10 to 11 am. Attendees will have the opportunity to delve into the intriguing tale of Edward Field Jones, a long-time resident of Coochiemudlo Island, and his quest to solve a historical enigma.

 

Leonard's book explores Jones's determination to identify one of six islands named by explorer Matthew Flinders in 1799, a mystery that had persisted for nearly 170 years. Through meticulous research and a deep connection to the island, Jones's journey is brought to life, offering readers a glimpse into the rich history of Coochiemudlo Island.
