A Quiet Walk with a Big Intention

There’s something quietly powerful about people choosing to pause and walk for peace.

On Saturday 2nd May, Coochiemudlo Island will join a global movement for World Labyrinth Day 🌏, with a Labyrinth Walk for Peace happening right here on the island.

This isn’t about steps or fitness goals. It’s a slower kind of walk. One that gives you a moment to breathe, reflect, and maybe reset a little.

One Island, One Path, Connected to the World

Across the globe, people will be walking labyrinths on the same day, creating what’s often described as a “rolling wave of peace.”

It’s simple. You walk in, you pause, and you walk out again.

No pressure. No right way to do it.

Here on Coochie, we might be small, but in moments like this, we’re part of something much bigger.

Where to Go (and What to Expect)

The walk runs from 12:45pm to 2:00pm 🕒

To find it, head through the Oval on Elizabeth Street, then walk about 100 metres along the bike track. You’ll find it behind the Croquet Lawn and Tennis Courts.

If you’ve never done a labyrinth walk before, that’s perfectly fine. Most people haven’t the first time.

Bring the Practical Stuff… and Something Personal

You’ll want to bring a chair, water, a hat, and sunscreen ☀️

And one more thing. Your intention for peace ✨

That could be for your family, the island, or something happening on the other side of the world. It doesn’t need to be said out loud. Just bring it with you.

Why This Matters (Even If You’re Not Into This Kind of Thing)

You don’t need to be spiritual or into meditation to take part.

At its core, this is simply people choosing to slow down together and focus on something positive.
